Walking On Ice
Have you ever felt as though you didn't have anything. Like nobody but I am was on your side, that He was the only one you could talk to. The only one that wouldn't yell at you about how you felt or what you were going through. And just when you're about to give up and stop trying someone comes into your life that makes you second guess every thought you've ever thought in your whole time of existence. Suddenly all the bad things you think about yourself and what others think about you doesn't matter anymore. You cling onto every breath that they take and every word that they speak. Their every heart beat gives you life and their look gives you a reason. They have complete power over your every emotion, so it feels as though you are walking on thin ice located in the middle of the ocean. If they even blink the wrong way they could break your ice into a million tiny pieces.....and they've done it before so you know. You are fully aware of the danger you are in, but still you choose to hold your breath, concentrate on the way they make you feel, and focus on them. Convincing yourself that if the ice does indeed break that it wouldn't be so bad as long as they fall in with you, as long as the freezing temperature numb your bodies at the same moment ....together. It's happened before, you've fallen before but those times were different. You were stronger then, you were the ice then as well but now you are not. They've melted away the solid, they tore down the delicate structure you formed and fought so hard to keep up, and you let them........because they were the first to get you to help them do it. You go through this for a while and you become use to it....the feeling I mean. So you get comfortable and walk out deeper/farther. And suddenly just when you think your safe to get comfortable and put all of your weight down. The ice breaks beneath their feet and you go into a complete panic. You look for something that could save them but you've ventured so far and secluded yourself from everyone but them, so you're alone. You jump in after them and once the freezing temperature of the water hits your flesh your mind races to a place its never been before, a place of fear. Fear of losing yourself while fighting not to lose them. But its too late you've already jumped in and now you have to live with it or die trying. You can swim away by yourself and leave them, you could attempt to save them and risk everything, or you could allow the water to numb the both of you.
